3D Printing, Design Assist and Prototypes

Our vast experience in product development through to manufacture of the item is to your advantage.  With well over 50 years in manufacturing and design we can make your idea a reality and suggest how it can be easily manufactured.

Email us your idea, whether it is a scanned hand drawn sketch or 3D Cad drawing, we will suggest what needs to occur to make it into reality along with an estimate of cost and time required.  We are happy to meet with you to discuss your project/idea should you wish the personal touch.

Prototypes

A prototype is the start of a new product for our client but more importantly we hope that it is the beginning of a long term relationship for both of us. We take great pride and satisfaction knowing that we have assisted in the creation and sometimes the manufacture of a new product.

We specialise in functional prototypes and working models.

3D Printing

3D printing has revolutionised the design process.  A 2D drawing is no longer the best way to communicate your idea - 3D modelling is a great way to improve on this BUT 3D printing takes it one step further.  From an idea or drawing we can quickly produce a 3D printed prototype in PLA plastic and in a short time you are able to hold in your hands a solid sample of your latest design.

One major benefit of 3D printing is that you can demonstrate a real model of your idea. If you need to test several different design options you can create 2, 3 or more variations inexpensively.  By having a 3D prototype you can immediately identify any issues with the design and if there are any changes to be made it is just a quick update to the file. We can usually print an updated version and have it back to you in a couple of working days.

We do need a specific file type to 3D print - preferably STL.   If you don't have access to this but do have 3D modelling programme, please contact us and we should be able to convert the file for you.   Even if you don't have access to a 3D modelling programme please send us what you have and we will endeavour to assist you.
